Show Summary
The Unit seasons are military procedural action-packed thriller drama developed by David Mamet and the basic plot has been derived from ‘Inside Delta Force’, a novel written by Eric Haney. The show focuses on a military unit planned on basis of real-life Delta Force. Eric Haney, the creator of the show, is himself a former Delta Force operator and has tried his best to give it a real look caring for its minutest details. Originally its episodes were broadcast on CBS channel in 480i (SDTV) and 1080i (HDTV) Picture format but later on its syndication was provided in various countries. 20th Century Fox Television has held the productions duties of the show in association with Eric Haney. The unit season 1 was premiered on 7th March, 2006.
“Fort Griffith”, a fictional army post, is the main set up of the show. Colonel Tom Ryan, the commanding officer, has the unit’s immediate chain of command. Unit’s ALPHA team personnel give minimal mission or operational information to their wives like their training schedules, where they are deployed, how long their mission would be, what their daily routine consist of. Moreover, they have to strictly follow “303rd Logistical Studies Group” concept in their interactions with people outside a Unit family. If they get killed in a mission, there family members are told that they were on training. Even family members are encouraged to keep the knowledge with themselves regarding their duties and not to discuss with anyone. All the episodes follow colonel tom Ryan and his company of 130 operators performing various difficult missions and duties successfully.
