The Unit Season 1
First season of ‘The Unit’ was broadcasted from March 7, 2006 to May 16, 2006. In the first season of the show, we’re introduced to the members of The Unit and their family members. In the season opener ‘First Responders’, we met The Unit- a team of US Special Forces Operatives assigned to undertake dangerous missions around the world. Bob Brown had joined the team very recently. The Unit set out to release a hijacked plane filled with European businessmen. On the other hand, Kim Brown, Bob’s wife was seen trying to adjust to a new life while dealing with the control The Unit had over her personal life. Second episode was entitled ‘Stress’. Here, the whole team, except Bob, was set to search a fallen Chinese Satellite. Bob dealt with his family issues occurred due to the shifting to a new environment. On the other hand, wives of officers placated the wife of a dead soldier. Next episode was entitled ‘200th Hour’- Jonas Blane was sent to Indonesia in order to rescue a group of American missionaries. Bob made a mistake so he was determined to show everyone that he’s up to job. On the other hand, the wives, Molly, Kim and Tiffy decided to visit a senator. In ‘True Believers’- the team headed to Los Angeles, to shield Mexico’s drug minister, who was threatened with assassination. When they’re trying to protect the minister, his wife and two sons got kidnapped. A former Unit wife returned with an intention to lure the members to work in private sector. Ryan asked Mack to take time off which Tiffy was not okay with. Then came the episode entitled ‘Non-Permissive Environment’. Here, we saw that the team must escape Spain even after their mission to slander a terrorist was cancelled by the government. On the base, Molly came to know about her daughter’s decision to drop out from the college. On ‘Security’, the team was sent to Beirut so that they could prevent the exchange of information between the Russians and the Iranians. Tom Ryan’s attempts to end his affair with Tiffy failed when she didn’t listen to him. Kim saw Tiffy entering a motel room and it raised several questions in her mind. In ‘Dedication’- we saw the team on a mission in Afghanistan. Bravo team’s helicopter went down as it had some engine trouble so the team attempted to rescue other Unit. Meanwhile, Molly and Ron Cheals had a confrontation over the issue of his drug addiction and Kim landed a job at a radio station. In ‘SERE’- the whole team was treated as the prisoners of war in a SERE training drill. Kim had her own issues and Molly helped her to sort them out. Then came the episode ‘Eating the Young’. Here, we saw the team as they tried to recover some stringer missiles before they could be sold them to Islamic militants. In this episode, Hector’s girlfriend discovered that his actual job in army was with The Unit. Then came the episode entitled ‘Unannounced’. In this episode, Bob got his cover blown in Africa and he asked Jonas to cancel a dignitary’s visit to the area. But everyone was surprised when the official refused to cancel the visit and soon it was discovered why he did so. On the other hand, Kim didn’t receive a warm welcome as she was expecting at a radio station. Next episode was entitled ‘Exposure’ where Jonas dealt with a young man who was looking to know the truth about his father’s death. A Unit woman insisted that Bob had slept with her and it burst off his mind. In ‘Morale, Welfare and Recreation’. In this episode the team was sent to Atlanta so that they could defuse a bomb. Bob was asked to catch a detective who’s selling top secret files to the Chinese government. Season came to an end on May 16, 2006 and the season finale was entitled ‘The Wall’. In this episode, we saw the team was sent to assist French led United Nations. Jonas discovered that Molly had lost their savings. Tiffy decided to divorce Mack after she read a letter regarding his re-enlistment.
Season’s Top Ranked Episode ‘True Believers’
The Unit was sent to Los Angeles in order to save Mexico’s drug minister who was dealing with a fear of being assassinated. Team succeeded to save him but at the same time, his wife and two sons got kidnapped. Meanwhile, a former Unit wife returned on the base and she tried to lure the Unit members away. Ryan asked Mack to take some time off and Tiffy got very disturbed with it.
